Yellow Dog Flyfishing Adventures is known world-wide for purveying unique fly fishing trips. Through our decades of experience we've explored some corners of the world home to angling opportunities worthy of distinction. In Chilean Patagonia, we're proud to partner with three unique operations that combine high adventure fishing, comfortable accommodations, and remote living.
The Game Changer is a land vessel that carries two anglers, a professional cook, a fishing guide, and an assistant to unnamed waters in Southern Chile. Fishing all the time is made possible by two jet pontoon boats that allow you to fish on glacial rivers and lakes, freestone rives, as well as smaller spring creeks. With transportation means like this, your fishing options are vast.
With client demands for longer fishing days, less travel time to the water, evening hatches, and mobile accommodations further off the grid, the owners of Cinco Rios Lodge and Estancia Del Zorro near Coyhaique, Chile dreamed up The Game Changer, and they’re taking Patagonia fishing to the next level.
The Game Changer pairs a high adventure living style with an unmatched amount of remote fishing for a very memorable fly fishing expedition. Experience the unnamed waters of Southern Chile with an intimate team, search for large brown trout in a variety of water, and relax in the peaceful environment of the Game Changer.
Operating at the southernmost tip of Chile, Lakutaia Lodge is a one-of-a-kind, heli-fishing operation located on Navarino Island – a wild, remote and undeveloped wilderness area in the UNESCO Cape Horn Biosphere.
Utilizing safe and reliable helicopters, Lakutaia provides anglers with access to some of the most remote and unreachable lakes and river in all of South America, with abundant wade fishing opportunities for browns, brook trout, and rainbows, as well as the occasional sea-run brown trout.
In many respects, Navarino Island can be considered one of the last of the great unexplored freshwater trout fisheries on the planet. With one of the best locations on the island, Lakutaia Lodge is located on the outskirts of Puerto Williams – the world’s southernmost town – directly overlooking the Beagle Channel and the rugged terrain of Argentina’s Tierra del Fuego.
The River of Dreams Basecamp operation lies deep in one of the most inaccessible and beautiful valleys in all of Chilean Patagonia. For years, casting a fly to these large and wild brown trout was only a dream of local guides in Coyhaique, Chile.
After years of dreaming, Magic Waters Lodge put the time and effort in to make this dream come true. Creating a basecamp with cozy accommodations and a remote wild brown trout fishing nearby is the recipe for a terrific high adventure trip.
With exclusive overland access, and no access by jet boat, anglers have 30 miles of the most beautiful and wild brown trout streams all to themselves. The River of Dreams Basecamp, sitting at the confluence of a wonderful spring creek and the Rio Blanco, was designed and constructed with minimal impact to this beautiful and sensitive environment. The camp consists of three comfortable wood-framed expedition style tent-cabins that include cozy beds, gear storage and heating system, kitchen and dining tent and two fully equipped bathhouses complete with hot showers.
Yellow Dog Flyfishing Adventures is excited to offer these exciting trips for adventuresome anglers.
